As a sports medicine professional your days are filled with numerous tasks to ensure the safety and well-being of your athletes. Filling in paperwork and medical charts can be quite a burden when added to your already full list of tasks. This is where using an Athlete Electronic Health Record (EHR) system comes in. These are different from your standard EHR as they’re designed with the sports medicine professional in mind, making it easier and faster to record important health information in one central, secure place, whether you are in the athletic training room or out on the field.
In this two part blog series, we’ll walk you through some of the key features Presagia Sports has to simplify your day to day life, including some new functionality we just released. These posts are for our clients who want to maximize their use of Presagia Sports, as well as anyone evaluating an Athlete EHR who needs to know what to look for.
Quickly Record Treatments
When you’re caring for your athletes in the training room, it’s time consuming to constantly search for, and update, the health information of the athlete you’re treating. Presagia Sports’ quick treatment option saves you time by allowing you to quickly plug in all the necessary information regarding an athlete’s treatment in one place, for multiple athletes at once.
How does it work?
The quick treatment option opens up a new window on your computer or tablet that allows you to fill in all your treatment information on one page. All you have to do is type in an athlete’s name, choose their injury from a drop-down menu, and then select the treatment given (heat, ice, massage, ultrasound, etc.). Each treatment option allows you to document more details on the treatment, such as the type of massage, and how long the treatment took.
At the end of the day, all you have to do is save it, and the information will be added to each athlete’s individual profile. This allows you to stop worrying about filling in paperwork, and focus on taping, icing, and treating your athletes.
Allow Your Athletes To Document The Details Of Their Injuries
Let your athletes help you out with the athlete kiosk. This allows athletes to fill in their own personal information and facts about their injury, when they arrive for treatment.
How does it work?
An athlete enters their ID number and their surname to check-in to the system. This opens the treatments page where athletes can select the trainer or therapist they’re seeing, the reason for their visit, and the treatment they received. Once saved, the athlete kiosk sign-in page will open up for another athlete to check-in.
This information will be sent to the quick treatment screen for easy reference. Again, at the end of the day all the information will be sent to each athlete’s individual record at the click of a button!
Speed Up Filling Out Your Insurance Forms
Say goodbye to manual work, and hello to Presagia Sports! Presagia Sports has a new feature that auto-fills insurance forms with data from the system.
How does it work?
Simply search for your athlete, pick the injury that needs to be claimed, and choose the insurance form you need from a drop-down menu. Then, select if you want it in PDF or Word format, and the insurance form will be auto-generated with your athlete’s information pre-populated in the form. All you have to do is print and send it. It’s that easy!
While these are only some of the features Presagia Sports’ Athlete EHR system has, these features will improve your day-to-day life by saving you time and ensuring your athletes’ health records are up-to-date. Eliminating some of this manual work also ultimately gives you more time to focus on the health and safety of your athletes.
As always, you can rest assured that we keep all athlete data secure. The Presagia Sports’ system can only be accessed using your unique user ID and password. Our role and group based security only shows information to users who are authorized based on their role in the organization and the teams they have permission to see. All data is protected in our secure online database, that is continuously backed up to prevent potential data loss or breaches.
Stay tuned for the second post in this series, packed with more helpful info!
